Massage Therapy Students at High-Tech InstituteAnthem College opened its doors in Phoenix in 1982, and has grown to include a total of 25 schools and an online campus.  The mission of Anthem College has always been to offer job-focused education, teaching students what employers want them to know and preparing them for real-world careers.  They use a blended learning educational model, where coursework and hands-on skills are taught simultaneously.

One of High-Tech’s distinctions is Student Services, which provides extensive support before and after graduation to help students succeed in school and in their careers.  Some of the services they provide are housing assistance, employment assistance, academic tutoring, and placement assistance after graduation. Graduates of High-Tech can also return for retraining and skill updates at no cost for the duration of their careers.

Massage Therapy Program

Massage Therapy is becoming recognized as an important and respected health care discipline.  Massage therapists are employed in sports medicine, orthopedics, chronic pain management, naturopathy and chiropractic care.  They work in athletic clubs, nursing homes, salons, clinics and private practice.

The massage therapy program at High-Tech is a 74 week program leading to an Associate of Science degree.  It includes 68 weeks of classes and a six-week, unpaid, supervised clinical rotation.  The classes are modular, rather than sequential, so you can enter the program at any point and continue to take classes until you have completed all of the modules.

Students gain foundational knowledge in anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, nutrition, stress management, injury prevention and wellness.  They learn techniques of Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, sports massage, deep tissue massage, chair massage, reflexology and aromatherapy.

Students also learn the skills necessary for working as a team, communicating with patients and other health care professionals, and running a business.  They graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in various healthcare, athletic and spa settings or to begin a private practice.
